Cleanline 4/3 Hooded Chest Zip Wetsuit

When it comes to wetsuits, I've been a hardcore O'Neil fan. But had to get this suit after hearing all the hype. The design generally follows the Pyrotech which I think is the best design I know of. The material is similar to O'Neil's TechnoButter in comfort but maybe not quite as stretchy. I tested this 4/3 surfing North Oregon coast on a December day with temps in the mid 30's and a stiff offshore breeze. It was plenty warm and what stood out to me was when I got rolled or had to dive under bombs I never felt the slightest penetration of cold water. The Pyrotech might be a little easier to get on and off, but this suit is more water tight and warmer. This material is supposed to be more durable...time will tell.

I stopped by Cleanline in Seaside at the start of a 4 day surf trip, and after a quick conversation with the folks working at the shop, trying this suit on, and feeling the quality and immediate stretch of this suit, I knew it was the one for me. I’ve got around 8 days of use out of it so far and can say that it is the nicest suit I’ve ever owned. I’m 6’2” 175lbs, and the medium tall fit me perfectly. My hope is to use the 4/3mm through the winter in Washington and Oregon, and after some brief experience I feel like that is totally doable. There is zero windchill, and almost no water absorption. Dries super fast. The interior of the suit feels super plush against my skin. It’s a bit tougher to get out of then other suits I’ve owned but I attribute that to the suit being new and it having a fairly compressive fit, which I appreciate. Everything about the suit is exactly what I was looking for, so I didn’t mind paying the premium price knowing that there will be added benefits in warmth, weight, and flexibility. Love it!
