Additional Info

O'Neill uses recycled ocean oyster shells in place of calcium carbonate powder which comprises approximately 10% of their neoprene. O’Neill worked with their key manufacturing partner to develop a non-solvent based lamination glue called “aqua-alpha”. Aqua alpha reduces solvent usage by 600 grams per wetsuit compared to traditional laminating glues. Eliminates harmful VOCs and has the same durability as conventional, solvent-based Wetsuit glues. From recycled polybags to 100% recycled paper and soy based inks hang tags. Conserving water, energy and virgin materials. 100% digital catalogs. Dope-dying infusion produces colored yarns without the dyeing process. This saves tremendous amounts of water while reducing energy consumption and water pollution (up to 80%). 26% carbon emission is reduced for every kg of fabric. Carbon black is one of the key ingredients in neoprene. It can now be carbonized from scrap rubber tires using high heat to extract. 72% carbon emission declined. O’Neill’s advanced repair facility prolongs the life cycle of their product, keeping their wetsuit out of the landfill longer.

I will spend my money on the 5/4 wonderful wetsuit. I have never this year had to get out of the water due to being cold. I have more fun now because I’m not cold.

Most comfortable 5-4 ever

This suit is so stretchy and comfortable it feels too good to be true. I generally like O'Neill suits for the sizing - they are great if you have broad shoulders. I'm about 140 and 5' 4" with an athletic build. I usually wear a 10 in O'Neill and the sizing worked well with this one. I have yet to test it out in New England winter, so I'm withholding a star until I see how it performs in very cold water. As others mentioned, shipping was fast and they give you fun stickers and candy in the box - what's not to love?

Good suit but not windproof

I started using this suit in New York in December with water and air temps in the 40s and it kept me plenty warm at the time. Very stretchy and east to get in and out of. In mid-January I put it to more of a test and surfed wearing this suit when the water was about 40, the air 18, and north winds 20-25mph. Perhaps this suit would not claim to be able to perform in those conditions, but in any case I was freezing and could only surf a little more than an hour. The next weekend the water was about 38, the air about 25, and more modest wind like 10-15 mph. I felt comfortable for the most part in these conditions, though whenever the wind picked up I could feel it cutting right through the suit and making my body cold. I think the main weakness of this suit is its lack of protection from wind. It doesn't have a smooth windproof panel on the front and back of the torso like many suits do. I was hoping this suit would give me the protection I need through the whole New York winter but even though there are many good things about it, I can see it will fall short on cold windy days. I wish some companies would make more serious winter wetsuits in women's sizes. For now it seems like only the boys get to stay warm in very cold conditions.

Perfect wetsuit for Oregon waters

I fell in love with this wetsuit immediately. I am beginner surfer and cold Oregon waters can be quite a lot to handle. With this wetsuit I felt warm and cozy and still super flexible. I also highly recommend Cleanline surf shop. They answered my questions very quickly, they were very nice and helped me to choose the right size of the wetsuit. I can only recommend them!

Love this Wetsuit!

Absolutely love this wetsuit! I boogie board year round in the northeast where waters dip down to 36°. This suit is absolutely toasty. Best thing I like about it though is how easy it is to get in and out of it. I never thought I would be able to handle a chest zip because I’ve felt completely claustrophobic when I’ve tried them in the past. The flex in this one makes it easy. Love it!! Also love Cleanline. What a great company. Great stuff, efficient, easy returns… How ya gonna beat it?
