Additional Info

Made of hi-strength Acetal resin, the Finjak® replaces the stock screw and sliding plate and eliminates the need for tools to install, remove, and adjust the position of the classic Bahne-style fin.

Bill Bahne introduced his Fins Unlimited box in 1971, and the Bahne-based removable/ adjustable fin system remains the standard for classic single-fin and 2+1 equipped surfboards and stand-up paddle boards.

The convenience of a fast, tool-free fin system allows easy stacking for transport (and less tear-through of board bags), but the greatest performance advantage of the tool-free Finjak® is the ability to fine-tune your ride between sets—not sessions!

The Finjak® works on front-tab fins, but it was designed for rear tab fins. If you’re using it on a front tab fin and you hit something in the water, it could release, especially on longer fins. This can be a good thing, saving a broken fin or box, (or person). It's a good practice to check your board whenever you hit something, but especially important when using a front-tab fin.

Enhance your surfing
Improve your sessions with Finjak® Tool-Free The Finjak® Tool-Free surfboard fin installation device replaces the metal plate and screw of your single fin longboard, mid-length, 2+1 surfboard, or SUP.

Effortless to install, remove, or adjust your fin in seconds, the Finjak® Tool-Free is the perfect fin bolt replacement that every longboard, mid-length, and retro board rider needs to enhance your sessions and dial your fin and surfboard perfectly to your taste.

Packaging Instructions & Info

Finjak Tool-Free In Use

  1. Open fully and drop front cross-pin into cross slot in box.
  2. Rotate near pin into channel.
  3. Slide to desired position.
  4. Sight Finjak® post through hole in fin-tab and lower fin over post until you hear the "click".
  5. Release with a firm pull or rap in opposite direction.
  6. Protect your hand when releasing a super-tight (or sharp!) fin.

Take full advantage of your fin design's rigidity or flex!

  • Be sure it fits snugly, without wobble
  • A too-tight fin base can be sanded a bit
  • A loosen fin base can be shimmed or thickened with fiberglass
  • It's good practice to check your fin and board whenever you hit something, but especially when using a front-tab fin.

It takes real effort to close the Finjak® using your fingers! But if you—Insert a coin in the rear slot and twist the halves apart. To re-assemble, snap the top half onto the split post in the part-open position as shown.
