Staff Says Cleanline Staff Michael Says:

"Matt Biolos’ new fin template feels great for all-around surfing. I use them in my daily performance shortboard. They have plenty of drive and let me hold through turns on powerful sections. The Honeycomb with carbon construction is responsive and gives back through turns similar to the Blackstix from Futures. Biolos also designed quad rears to pair with the set in the Mayhem 3.0 Tri-Quad, which works great in my dedicated quad."

Product Construction

Honeycomb
Honeycomb fins have a lightweight hexagonal core which reduces the weight and maintains the flex properties. These fins are engineered with a Medium flex pattern, making them stiffer than Blackstix, but more flexible than Fiberglass. These fins have a Ride Number range of 4-7 and are great all around fins for any condition.

Additional Info

Honeycomb Core
The Core Matters. The hexagonal foam core mat in these fins reduces the resin content, making the fin lighter while keeping the fin stiff where it counts. This gives these fins a medium flex pattern making them a great all around performer. From mushy beach breaks to pumping reef points, honeycomb fins are the standard when it comes to upgrading fins.

Balanced Performance
Balanced Construction. The medium flex pattern of honeycomb fins makes this fin an all around performer. They have a Ride Number range of 4-7, putting them in the balanced category. Honeycomb is the go to fin for all-around surfing. These fins are designed to gain drive down the line, maintain hold in turns, or boost airs in all conditions.

All Around
Allow for the original characteristics of your board to shine, without any directional influence.

The Mayhem 3.0 is an all new template. With the trends in modern HP shortboards going towards more curve under the rear foot for critical pocket surfing, we felt the need for the fins to evolve with the board rockers. We wanted to add a bit more base, with more rake and a narrower tapered tip than our long-standing thruster template.

The idea with the base and rake is more resistance and bite when deep into turns and to maintain drive through tight radius turns. The reduced tip area, with a tapered flex, adds release and freedom for quick transitions in and out of turns, when needed. We’ve been taking these fins to the wave pools for controlled, repeatable testing, and also worked with our crew of diverse sized, elite surfers for feedback and input.” — Matt Biolos
