NVS worked closely with Taylor to dial in a twin template that would appeal to his style and still be user friendly for the majority of us mere mortals. Taylor's Arc Series Twins have wide bases, are relatively upright and utilize a hatchet style tip. These design characteristics bring balance to the template. You can expect these twins to be speed generating, offering down the line drive from the take off and through turns. The more upright outline means they won't fight you when you shift your weight to your back foot and want to crank on the tail. Finally the hatchet style tip will ensure that you can carve and stay on rail through the fullness of your turns. You won't have to baby your board through the last 1/3 of turns; these fins will help you stay locked in; allowing for more fluid, graceful surfing.
Fin Size Detail

Additional Info
Taylor is one of the most iconic power surfers the surf world has known. Goes without saying that he spends a lot of time on rail executing powerful, drawn out lines. He gravitates toward fins that provide hold and drive when pushing his sleds to their limits. That was the focus when fine tuning these fins. Paired with the NVS proprietary SeriesIII foiling and Apex Series construction Taylor’s Arc Series twins are going to be as high quality and performance as you’ll find anywhere on the market. Unlike molded fins, NVS makes no compromises with the foiling of these fins. They are 100% built for speed. Taylor’s signature fin is part of the NVS line of Apex Series line. Every fin is CNC cut from G10 fiberglass to insure precision foiling and ideal flex patterns. This means increased response and higher performance in general.
“These fins are fast! Even when laying it down, they have tons of hold.” —Taylor Knox
NVS APEX SERIES FINS
NVS Apex Series Fiberglass Fins: The Pinnacle of Performance.
Better Materials:
- Apex: Made using G10; an industrial grade fiberglass, which is manufactured to the highest quality standard. Made by heating special fibers with epoxy resin under intense pressure in order to make a perfect panel; they eliminated the errors which can occur by using a hand layup. By heating the fibers and resin under pressure NVS is left with the ideal resin to fiber ratio in order to maximize strength and decrease weight.
- Apex Flex: Made using Volan Fiberglass for increased flex through the body of the fin.
Better Foiling:
One of the main benefits to NVS' Apex line of fins is that each fin is cut on a CNC machine using the exact foil profiles NVS developed.
- SeriesIII: The benchmark of high performance. NVS uses a very specific foil that was derived from a series of NACA foils whose purpose was to increase laminar flow (speed) while decreasing turbulent flow (drag). This translates to a fin that allows for faster/easier generation of speed and has a wider angle of attack, which means you won’t lose as much speed while bottom turning or going through hard cutbacks.
- Concave: or inside foils are used on board where you want easier rail to rail transitions. Concave foils will generate more hold at slower speeds but will not be able to go as fast as flat foiled fins.
- Retro: Used on some longboard fins such as the Da Clutch and Gypsy which feature a more period appropriate foil to suite the classic board designs.
Better Manufacturing:
By using cutting edge CNC machines and precise designs they machine cut each fin in order to have the perfect foil and finish. All NVS fins are designed 100% in house using advanced 3D software.
This is what makes the Apex Series G10 fins the strongest most high performance fins in the world.
